The secret of accuracy of the GemMaster II is found not only in its high quality components, electronic circuitry and craftsmanship, but also in its unparalleled "standard" features. These features are designed to make the GemMaster II the easiest and most accurate faceting machine available, while slashing the amount of time required. First and foremost is the ELECTRONIC MICRO STOP (EMS) METER, THE HEART OF THE GemMasterII.
HERE IS HOW THE EMS CAN IMPROVE YOUR ACCURACY AND SAVE YOU TIME:
As the first facet in a series is cut to the desired angle and depth, the needle moves up the meter scale. When the facet is completed and the grinding stops, the position of the needle on the meter is noted. As each subsequent facet in a series is cut, an audible tone denotes the identical needle position on the meter. Upon hearing this tone, you know to move on to the next facet. When using this method, upon completion not only are all your facets identical but your time involved is cut dramatically! If the use of the tone is not desired, a switch is provided to turn it off and allow only the meter needle to operate.
Example: After the first facet in a series is cut (taking a minimum of time) the remaining facets in the series can be cut in six to ten seconds each!

Raytech-Shaw Faceting Machine
The RAYTECH-SHAW, Wood design base, advanced designed mast system and rigid cutting platform, variable speed drive, lamp. The Raytech-Shaw design provides stability with a tripod handpiece on a rigid platform vertically adjustable right next to the cutting lap. This compact and rigid design minimizes flex and greatly improves consistency of cut. Since the handpiece sits on a platform it can be picked up at any time for a view of the facet.
Deluxe unit comes complete with a wood base, aluminum table top, the advanced designed mast system, rigid cutting platform, variable speed drive, transfer jig, 7 dops, dop wax, lamp, the handpiece with a 1/10 vernier and features a 8 tooth facet finder, a 96 index gear, all 6” size laps included are a 260 grit diamond cutting lap, a 600 and 1200 Nu-Bond pre-polish laps and a Batt lap for polishing. New! Dial Indicator Facetron
“A Lapidary Luxury” is how most faceter’s describe the Facetron because of it’s easy of operation, superior quality and precision that makes it a joy to create beautiful gemstones.
The Facetron comes as a complete turn-key unit except for laps. If you already have your laps then unpack it and start faceting. Dollar for dollar the Facetron is the best faceting machine you can buy.
The new dial indicator stop system consists of a new hard stop and also the dial indicator for dependable and accurate depth of cuts. You have three options: you can use dial indicator as:
• Dial stop only • Hard stop only • Or both
The dial indicator resolution is .0005 of inch increments. The smaller indicator inside the middle of the dial is a revolution counter and has no impact on your cutting. Your machine is factory preset so that your desired angle will be met when the indicator needle reaches zero, which the factory preset at a 12 o’clock position.
Calibration: One of the best beauties of this dial indicator system is that you can fine-tune or calibrate your head yourself. Step 1: Set your protractor to 45 degrees and place the 45-degree table dop in the dop chuck. Step 2: Using a fine, flat lap set table dop flat on the lap surface. Adjust hard stop and also the height adjustment on mast until the 45-degree table top continually stops flat on lap. Step 3: Adjusting dial indicator. Two options: Factory preset method: With the hard stop already set at 45 degrees, loosen set screw in back of aluminum body and slide dial indicator all the way down, then slide in back of aluminum body and slide dial indicator all the way down, then slide it up until zero is at the 12 o’clock position, then retighten set screw but not too tight as to hinder dial indicator movement. Good for fine tuning machine: Adjust bezel on indicator by turning clockwise or counter-clockwise.
