Universal Heavy Duty Grinder - Polishing 8 inch

A complete heavy duty Lapidary grinding and polishing machine. Designed for production use, yet is affordable for the hobbyist. The 4 steps finishing process makes it easy to finish a wide variety of gem material, both natural and synthetic, including quartz, agate, jasper, opal etc. Because the Universal is a horizontal lap machine you can grind flats, make free form cabochons, rework quartz crystals, do intarsia and inlay work. The Universal is excellent for glass work, quiet, clean and can be in the house, or in a recreational vehicle. Clean up is easy, just remove the water spray shield and tray, wash, and you are ready to work again. A 1/4 HP with direct drive on a 2” flange. Unit measures 12”x12”x7” and complete instructions. ½” arbor standard. * Variable speed ball bearing DC motor with 115 VAC converter and coolant reservoir with splash guard. 500-3400 RPM. 180 mesh metal bond diamond disc, hydraulically pressed to a backing plate. 325 mesh diamond sanding disc. 600 mesh diamond pre-polishing disc. 1200 mesh diamond polishing disc. White polish pad with 14,000 mesh diamond compound. 4 backing plates. *Center shaft is taped to accept 1/4-20 thread. .
